About Our Prints

All our pictures are printed using the Giclée printing process. This sophisticated reproduction technology not only utilises more colours than regular litho printing, but also has an unparalleled vibrancy and detail.

Giclée printing is widely regarded as the very best fine art printing method currently available - that is why it has been embraced by so many galleries, artists and museums as their preferred method of art reproduction.

Paper, inks and mount board
We use pigment inks and archival paper approved by the Fine Art Trade Guild to ensure our prints longevity. Pictures are printed on 310g softly textured fine art board except where noted otherwise. In most cases they are supplied with an off-white mountboard (matte). However, certain prints will be supplied unmounted:

  • very large prints that are posted in tubes
  • custom sized prints

All prints are supplied unframed. Please see our articles on choosing the right frame and where to buy frames for useful information regarding framing.

Print sizes
In most cases, we offer our prints in several sizes. Please note the sizes given refer to the frame size (ie the external measurements of the mount) rather than the actual image size. The actual images sizes are as follows:

  • 24x30cm - image 6x8"
  • 30x40cm - image 20x29cm
  • 40x50cm - image 29x39cm
  • 30x30cm - image 20x20cm
  • 40x40cm - image 28x28cm

Caring for your print
To ensure your print lasts a lifetime we recommend that you:

  • Avoid displaying it in direct sunlight! All dyes eventually break down under exposure to UV light: the less exposure, the longer they will last.
  • Avoid excessive handling prior to framing as the paper surface may scratch.

A note about colour
We have taken great care to accurately represent the colour of our pictures. However, each monitor displays colour slightly differently - so there may be a slight variance between what you see on your screen and the final printed picture.
